Academic Rules
1. Attendance:
1.1. All students must put in a minimum of 80% of attendance for both practical and theory classes. Students having less than 80% attendance shall be detained. General attendance will be taken at the beginning of the first period and if a student is not present, the absentee loses attendance for the rest of the day.
1.2 If any student is absent even for one period he shall be considered as absent for the entire day.
2. Lab Classes
All students must attend lab classes
without fail. Those absent shall follow this procedure laid down in the prescribed
format explaining valid reasons and obtain permission t attend future classes.
3. Tests & Examinations:
3.1 In addition to the normal University Examinations at the end of the Year/Semester, there are regular examinations, which are subjective as well as of objective type. Sessional marks are awarded by teachers based on the performance in the internal tests and regularity in submission of assignments. If a student secures less marks in subjective exam the same mark will be allotted to objective test also writing of subjective exams is important.
3.2 Students must appear for all internal tests and submit assignments without fail. Failure to attend any of the tests of submission of assignments shall earn ‘‘zero’’ in the Sessional marks and will be sent to the University.
4.Punctuality:
All Students must arrive in the campus before the commencement of the classes. Late- comers will not be permitted to the remaining classes. If they wish to attend the class from the nest period on wards, they shall do so on payment of a fine of Rs.100/-.
5.Discipline:
5.1 A Student after entering the campus will not be permitted to go out. Students are not permitted of loiter in the campus during class-hours and anyone so found will attract disciplinary action which may be a fine, suspension or expulsion from the college.
5.2 Condonation of attendance at the end of the year/semester on grounds of ill-health will be entertained only if the student, who may be continuously absent for more than a week because of ill health, produces a medical certificate within one week of his attending College after such absence. Any medical certificate produced at the end of the year when applying for condonation, will not be treated as a valid certificate.
6. Identity Card:
6.1 All students must display their Identity Cards all the time, properly clipped. Those failing to comply with this requirement will not be allowed into the campus / classes and will be punished / fined.
6.2 Any payment received, such as amount towards reservation of seat, registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances in the event of cancellation of seat by the candidates.
6.3 All the admissions are subject to approval of the competent authority. For any reason, if any admission is rejected by the management / competent authority, the actual amount paid by the candidate at the time of admission will be refunded with in one month from the date of such rejection.
7. Cell Phones:
Use of cell phones, CD / Cassette players in the campus is strictly prohibited. Instrument will be confiscated.
8.Ragging:
Ragging in any form is an offence and is punishable under low. It is banned and those associated will be expelled from the college..
9.Transport:
All students who are availing the college bus facility must carry the bus-pass and must produce when demanded, failing which they will not allowed to travel in the bus. All students must travel in the allotted bus and routes. They should not change but occupy only their allotted seats throughout. Unauthorized students caught in the bus for not having the bus pass, should pay even if they traveled for one day also. First and second year are not allowed to bring two-wheelers.
10.Study Tours:
Study tours / Industrial tours are part of the curriculum and are compulsory. Expenses for tours shall be borne by the students. The college, will however, recommend for railway concession.
11.Powers of the Principal:
The Principal may, on the recommendation of the Head of the Department, or otherwise, inflict the following punishments in the interests of the student discipline and the Institution: fined, curtailment attendance, denial of promotion to next semester, suspension, expulsion or such other action as deemed necessary for the maintenance of discipline in the campus.
