Department of Computer Science Engineering

Introduction

Since its inception in 2001, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been continuously making progress in teaching and R&D activities. Started with an intake of 60 students, the sanctioned intake was increased to 90 seats in 2005 and to 120 seats in 2008.

          

                             CSE shares the Missionand Vision of the institute in imparting Quality Education to the students. First, it is ensured that the students perceive the computer fundamentals thoroughly.  Then, while fulfilling the requirements of the syllabus prescribed by the University, the course goes beyond the syllabus and offers students the opportunity to work on diverse hardware and software platforms.

Objectives

 

·               To achieve academic excellence and 100% placement for the students.

·             To develop a department intranet providing groupware tools for the faculty, course and study materials for the students.

·               To conduct at least one faculty development programme every semester.

·               To conduct national, International conferences, seminars and workshops regularly.

·               To promote research activities among the faculty and students.

·               To start M. Tech programme in the department.

·               To equip the students with advanced knowledge and skills in their chosen vocation.

 

SUPPORTING STAFF (TECH. / ADMIN.)

 

We have four technical supporting staff to assist the faculty who are handling the lab sessions.

 

There is a system administrator who is looking after all the systems available in the campus. He is responsible for maintenance of the systems.1 database administrator to maintain data base over intranet, and 1 hard ware engineer to repair computers are also available

 

The supporting staff also has attended national level seminars and workshops.        Each one of them is doing their higher studies and keeps on upgrading their skill set.
